blending pen exp

trying to do more experiments with the STAEDTLER water-soluble pen, i drew a simple heart shape on the rice paper, then added a drop of water at the middle of the heart, and watched how the ink flow out by itself.... quite interesting. i think we've done similar things ages ago in a chemistry class... i forgot the term for it...

and i tried to made a drawing from it... fun....

The process is called chromatography. I remember doing similar experiments in Chemistry class and being fascinated to see that different black felt tips were composed of entirely different colours. Like the flowers - simple but so effective.
